Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah

ARTIST & PHOTOGRAPHER (GH/D)

Akosua Viktoria Adu-Sanyah (*1990) is an internationally exhibited and published German-Ghanaian visual artist and documentary photographer based in Zürich, Switzerland.

She equally engages in documentary work and conceptual arts, emphasizing the materiality of photography.

Adu-Sanyah is known for her large-scale handmade chromogenic prints: the color darkroom is essential to her practice.

In the NFT space, she established herself with her long-term project 'Behold The Ocean', a pioneer case study in web3. Other recent projects are 'Inheritance – Poems of Non-Belonging' (Prix Photoforum, Prix d'Art Robert Schuman, City of Zurich Art Grant) and 'Jockeys of Accra' (National Geographic).
